The Austrian coloratura soprano, Nicola Proksch (Nicola Martinik), was awarded the First Prize in the category Opera (female) at the Antonín Dvořák International Competition in Karlovýý Vary, Czech Republic. In 2011 she was a finalist in the Klaudia Taev Competition. For Amina in La Sonnambula she was rewarded the prize of “Discovery of the Season” 2014 in Slovakia.
Nicola Proksch had her debut in 2008 she as Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto on a tour through Japan. During the 2008-2009 season she was a member of the Opera Studio at the Komische Oper Berlin, where she sang among others Barbarina in W.A. Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro and Chloe in Tchaikovsky’s Pique Dame. In the role of Queen of the Night in W.A. Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte which she is currently singing at Staatsoper Unter den Linden, she also appeared in Theater Bremen, Theater Erfurt, Staatstheater Schwerin and Volksoper Wien, as Najade in Strauss´ Ariadne of Naxos she appeared in Volksoper Wien, Staatsoper Hamburg, Oper Zürich and Oper Leipzig, and at the Bejing Music Festival.
In 2011 Nicola Proksch has been once again engaged for a tour throughout Japan, this time singing the role of Micaëla in Georges Bizet’s Carmen. In 2012 she made her debut in NDM Ostrava, Czech Republic as Ann Trulove in Igor Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress. In 2013 she had her critically acclaimed debut in as Amina in La Sonnambula in State Theater Kosice. In 2014 she appeared as Gilda in Rigoletto in Theater Nordhausen, as Marzelline in L.v. Beethoven's Fidelio with the Interpannonische Philharmonie. Critically highly acclaimed she appeared in 2016 in Ostrava as Rosaura in Wolf-Ferraris Le Donne Curiose. In 2018 she returned to State Theater Kosice in all three female roles of Les Contes d´Hoffmann as Olympia/Antonia and Giulietta. In Staatstheater Meiningen she appeared in a scenic version of Orffs Carmina Burana.
Since 2016 Nicola Proksch guests as Queen of the Night at Staatsoper Unter den Linden, since 2019 in both productions, the classical Everding as well as in the new production of Yuvenal Sharon. In 2022 she returns as Queen of the Night in the stageing of August Everding. In 2020 she appeared as Eva in Moniuzsko's Hrabina with the europa galante under Fabio Biondi at the Chopin Festival in Warsaw, the concert is available still on YouTube as well as on Spotify.
Nicola Proksch's concert repertoire includes among others W.A. Mozart's C Minor Mass and Requiem as well as several of his Concert Arias, J. Haydn's Schöpfung, Felix Mendelssohn's Elias, L.v. Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, Symphony No. 9 and Christus am Ölberg. She has appeared with Carmina Burana on the Dubrovnik Summer Festival 2017. In 2019 she spectacularly stepped in for her sick collegue with Verdi's Messa da Requiem. Her concert season 2021-2022 brings her to Czech Republic, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Nicola Proksch has worked with Bamberger Symphoniker, Janacek Philharmonie Ostrava, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and conductors as Václav Luks, Petr Altrichter, Jakub Hruša and Manfred Honeck. |
