The French baritone, Ludovic Provost, studied at the Conservatories of Perpignan and Paris. He made his singing debut with La Maîtrise du Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles and continued his singing studies with Yves Sotin. He then joined the Dutch National Opera Academy under Alexander Oliver and perfected his skills with Margreet Honig. He has taken various master-classes and has been a finalist in numerous international competitions.
Ludovic Provost was a member of the Nederlands Kamerkoor (Director: Peter Dijkstra), Nederlandse Bachvereniging (Director: Jos van Veldhoven / Shunske Sato) and Les Arts Florissants (Director: William Christie), and since 2011 he has been baritone in the Groot Omroepkoor. He has also sung as a soloist under Alfredo Bernardini, William Christie, Richard Egarr, Christophe Rousset and Olivier Schneebeli.
He performed roles in operas by W.A. Mozart (Le nozze di Figaro), Benjamin Britten (Demetrius in Midsummer Night's Dream), George Frideric Handel (as Melisso in Alcina and Curio in Giulio Cesare). He also appeared in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, as Macrobio in Rossini's La Pietra del Paragone and as Mercutio in Charles Gounod's Roméo et Juliette. His repertoire also includes a large number of songs, contemporary music, Passions by J.S. Bach and liturgical works. He currenty lives in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. |
