The German soprano, Jeannette Rack, recevied her first singing lessons at age 14 at the Kreismusikschule "Heinrich Schütz" in Torgau. After high school, she studied from 1998 to 2000 basic musicology and theater studies at the University of Leipzig. In October 2000, she began to study classical singing in the artistic main subject with Professor Monika Köhler at the Institut für Musik, der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg. Her special interest is the concert and oratorio, especially music of the Baroque. This is why she took in 2003, further study, with the objective of the study Lied and oratorio singer at the Musikhochschule Köln, Wuppertal department, with Professor Barbara Schlick. For several years, Jeannette Rack has been engaged in a variety of ways of historical performance practice, etc. She attended singing classes and scientific presentations of Händel-Akademie Karlsruhe, Bacharchives Leipzig, Stiftung Kloster Michaelstein, Alten Musik Woche Neuburg a.d. Donau and the Alten Musik Woche in Rendsburg. From 2001, followed by a variety of concerts in and around Leipzig with mostly less or unknown composers of the Baroque era as Michealangelo Grancini, Barbara Strozzi, Johann Caspar Horn, Franz Tunder, André Campra, Johann Hildebrand und Carl Heinrich Graun. Specially compiled rarities are a passion that still comes from her musicological study and for which she invested a lot of time to rediscover lost works in libraries, learning them and then bringing them to the ears of a lover audience.
Since October 2002, Jeannette Rack is a permanent member of the Kammerchores Michael- stein, which is a special ensemble for the performance practice of vocal music, particularly the Madrigal- and motets of Renaissance art, the early Baroque and early Classical.
Jeannette Rack has participated in CD recordings of Motets by Johann Heinrich Rolle in August 2004. Subsequently, two newly reconstructed Georg Philipp Telemann's cantatas were recorded under the direction of harpsichordist Ludger Rémy and the Telemannischen Collegium Michaelstein. Other works of Central German Baroque composer (G.P. Telemann, Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel, Johann Ludwig Krebs) are recorded by a special ensemble for historical performance practice, the Johann Ludwig Krebs on the CPO label..
Currently, Jeannette Rack is in the 10th semester of her artistic and pedagogical studies, which will end in September 2007. |
