The German bass and former boy alto, Stefan Rampf, received his first singing training with the Tölzer Knabenchor, where he sang as a boy alto in numerous concerts with Herbert von Karajan, Wolfgang Sawallisch or James Levine. For the ZDF (2nd Channel of German TV) he sang the alto part in J.S. Bach's Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248) under the musical direction of Nikolaus Harnoncourt, with whom he recorded also several Bach Cantatas (1982-1985). Singing studies at the Münchner Musikhochschule with Ingrid Bettag supplemented his training, as well as courses with Theo Adam, Kurt Widmer and Arturo Sergi.
Stefan Rampf had been active at the University of Augsburg as well as at the music schools in Bad Tölz und Fürstenfeldbruck, before he was engaged from 1997 as 1st bass at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz. Here, apart from his activity in the choir, he could be seen in smaller solo parts, such as a guest in Der Wildschütz and as a servant in Capriccio. In addition he has had experience in numerous church concerts and Lieder recitals. |
