Sabine Ritterbusch (Soprano)

Born: August 25, 1966 - Bad Pyrmont, Lower Saxony, Germany

The German soprano, Sabine Ritterbusch, followed her school-leaving examination with studies at the Music Academy Detmold, first music education and then voice with Mechthild Böhme, passing her vocal pedagogy, concert performance and final examination with honours. She completed her studies in master-classes with Judith Beckmann, Helmut Kretschmar and Sena Jurinac.

Since August 1993 she has been engaged as a soloist at the Hamburg State Opera and interprets all the major roles of her voice range, such as Susanna in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Pamina in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Ännchen in Freischütz (recorded by ARTE and 3Sat), Nannetta in Falstaff, Adina in Liebestrank, Marzelline in L.v. Beethoven's Fidelio and many others. She has made guest appearences at the Munich State Opera, the Semperoper Dresden, the Berlin State Opera, the Frankfurt Opera, the German Opera on the Rhine Düsseldorf and the Tel Aviv Opera.

Longside her activity as an opera singer, Sabine Ritterbusch is much in demand as a Lied and concert singer in Germany and abroad. She has access to a many-sided repertoire thanks to her solid vocal technique and stylistic confidence. She has appeared together with Daniel Barenboim, Ingo Metzmacher, Ivor Bolton, Peter Schreier, Helmuth Rilling, Günter Jena and Frieder Bernius, among others.

She sang as a soloist in radio-recordings (WDR, NDR, SFB, Radio Bremen), CD-recordings (under direction of Frieder Bernius, Gerd Albrecht and Wolfgang Helbich) and on television (ZDF, NDR, 3Sat and ARTE).

Her career was accompanied by different prizes and scholarships, for example the "Deutscher Musikrat" and the "Richard-Wagner-Verband-Bayreuth".

Among the singers who have studied with her and/or attended her master-classes: Neima Fischer (Soprano).
