Jason Rober (Baritone)

Born: July 23, 1999 - Staten Island, New York, USA

The American baritone, Jason Augustus Rober, studied Music Education at State University of New York at Fredonia (2016-2020), where he studied with Dr. Kimberly Upcraft. He currently studies for his Master of Music degree in Voice Performance at Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester (since August 2021), in the studio of Jan Opalach. He is a member of Eastman Collegium Vocal Ensemble.

In 2018 with the Hillman Opera, he covered the roles of Masetto and Il Commendatore in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni, and appeared on stage as part of the ensemble. In spring 2019, he sang Guglielmo in scenes of W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte with the Western New York Chamber Orchestra, in their Amadeus concert. In opera scenes with the Fredonia Student Opera Theatre Association, he has portrayed the roles of Marco in Gianni Schicchi, along with Pistol and Mr. Page in a mash-up of Falstaff and The Merry Wives of Windsor. In October 2019, he portrayed Prince Charming's father, Le Roi (the King) in one of Hillman Opera's casts of Massenet's Cendrillon. Additionally, he has appeared as a member of the ensemble with Buffalo Opera Unlimited. Outside of the opera repertoire, he has a deep love of choral music, and recently performed as the bass soloist in Schubert’s Mass in G, at First United Methodist Church in Fredonia. He thoroughly enjoys singing with the Fredonia Chamber and Masterworks choirs. He currently lives in New Paltz, New York.
