The French tenor, François Roche, began his singing studies with Jean Nirouet; then with Camille Lassale at the Conservatoire Massenet de Saint Etiene.
Under the direction of F.E. Comte, he participated as a soloist in the season of concerts at the Hostel Dieu: Vespers de la Virgin by C. Monteverd, Madrigals from the 8th Book by C. Monteverd, Te Deum by Charpantier, La Dafné by Gagliano, Indian Queen by H. Purcell,. He performed early music with various vocal ensembles and sang as a soloist Masses by Schubert, Haydn, W.A. Mozart, oratorios by Camille Saint-Saëns and Felix Mendelssohn, as well as works from the Baroque era, for which there is no certain pedilection (Carissimi, Purcell, George Frideric Handel, Charpentier) and numerous cantatas by J.S. Bach. Apart from early music, he has a great passion for singing Melodies. In 1994, he won a prize at the French Melodies Competition of Saint-Chamond. For many years he has been a member of Solistes de Lyon under the direction of Bernard Tétu with which he performed in numerous concerts: César Franck, Berlioz, Rossini, Chausson, Francis Poulenc...
