The Chilean soprano and music teacher, Vanessa [Vanesa] Rojas, ventured into singing from 2010, in the Coro Madre Cecilia Lazzeri of La Cisterna, and later joined two more choirs, with which he has participated in various presentations and competitions at the municipal and national level obtaining important recognitions. 1st place in the Growing up singing category B competition representing the Coro Excelsior and 1st place in the interscholastic choir organized by the Universidad Andrés Bello in the female voices category representing the Coro Madre Cecilia Lazzeri. She attended the 2011 International course on repertoire and choral conducting at the Universidad Católica, and also participated in the Easter concerts, performed by the Agrupación Coral Juvenil de la Zona Sur in the San Ramón and La Cisterna communes, directed by the Master Gerardo Bello. She obtained her Degree in Music from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Vanessa Rojas makde her opera debut playing Cherubino in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro; she later was Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi; Cinderella-Malén in Cenicienta Magia y leyenda and Mercêdes in Georges Bizet's Carmen. Likewise, she participated as a soloist in various musical seasons, including Música Sacra UC, Bach Santiago, and Conciertos de Extensión USACH. She is the winner of the Competition "Soloistas Siglo XXI 2017" and won also 2nd Place at the International Singing Contest "Laguna Mágica 2020".
At the same time and driven by the desire to teach, since 2016 Vanessa Rojas works as a vocal instructor and director of children's choirs in the commune of La Cisterna and in the Voces de Vitacura cultural program. Currently, she is a member of the Opera Studio FIA-YAP directed by the Fundación Ibáñez Atkinson and the Teatro Municipal de Santiago. |
