The French tenor and conductor, Clément Rousseau, began his conducting training with Gonzalo Bustos at the CRR de Rennes, where he also earned his DEM diplomas in piano and saxophone (2018-2025). At the same time, he trained in composition, orchestration, and counterpoint with David Lamaze and in accompaniment with Coralie Karpus. During his years in Rennes, he had the opportunity to conduct the Orchestre Symphonique du CRR de Rennes, Orchestre des Transmissions de Rennes, and Ensemble de Saxophone du CRR de Rennes. He is currently studying orchestral conducting at the Conservatoire d'Aulnay-sous-Bois (since September 2023) in Julien Guénebaut's class and is completing his classical saxophone studies at Pôle Sup'93 (September 2022-June 2025) with Carmen Lefrançois and Guillaume Berceau.
In 2022, Clément Rousseau composed the soundtrack for the short film Originel, directed by Gabriel Pierre. For the recordings, he works with musicians from the Orchestre National de Bretagne and students from the Pont Supérieur de Rennes.
Currently president of the association and musical director of L'Orphéon (since August 2023), Clément Rousseau aims to bring little-known symphonic repertoire to the forefront and bring female composers such as Louise Farrenc and Christine Jeandroz out of the shadows. He currently lives in Paris, France. |
