The German bass-baritone, Stefan PD Runge, studied from 1983 school music, musicology and Protestant theology at various German colleges and universities before settling in England in 1987 in order to pursue his musical training in Cambridge, London and Birmingham. Immediately after his studies, often rewarded with distinctions (Diploma as a concert singer, singing teacher, choral and orchestral conductor, musicologist, theory teacher and church musician) there followed several prizes in competitions for singing and choral conducting. Numerous master-classes (Emma Kirkby, A. Rooley, Evelyn Tubb, Barbara Schlick, Klaus Mertens, Ian Partridge, H. Max, P. Phillips und P. Bowden) rounded out his training.
Since 1993 Stefan PD Runge has coached with Professor Jessica Cash in London. His concert engagements as a singer (Bass-Baritone) and choral conductor (above all with the Kammerchor Halle which he conducts, as well as the Nürnberg University Choir and the Helmstedter Chorknaben) brought him to most European countries and have been documented by television, radio and record. His teaching experience has been gained principally with the Tölzer Knabenchor in Munich, with the Thomanerchor Leipzig and the Universities of Erlangen-Nurnberg and Halle-Wittenberg. |
