The American soporano, Victoria Schemenauer, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance with Honors from Indiana University South Bend (2016-2020); and her and her Master of Music degree in Voice Performance under the tutelage Julia Bentley (2020-2022). At Indiana University she appeared as Erste Knabe in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte with IU Opera (September 2021), as well as the chorus of Falstaff and Die Rondine.
An enthusiastic performer, Victoria Schemenauer's past credits include opera, recital, and concert work. VShe was seen most recently joining the South Bend Lyric Opera chorus for the premier of Marjorie Rusche’s Our American Odyssey. A lover of new music, highlights of her last season include premiering the role of The Girl in Paul Herman’s newly composed opera The Gift with South Bend Lyric Opera (January 2023); Esme in Jamey Guzman’s opera Open Heart Surgery in conjunction with the New Works Project at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana.
Passionate about community outreach, Victoria Schemenauer sang as The Queen of the Night in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte across central and southern Indiana public schools with Reimagining Opera for Kids, a non-profit community arts and education organization based in Bloomington, Indiana. While in Bloomington she participated in multiple community-centered recital performances, as well as hosting community cabarets while acting as vice-president of the University Gilbert and Sullivan Society. She is currently based in the South Bend and Chicagoland areas. |
