The American leggiero tenor, Alexander Scheuermann, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from Florida State University; and his Master of Music degree in Voice Performance from The University of Houston, where he studied with Joseph Evans. He studies under Cynthia Clayton.
Alexander Scheuermann regularly performs lead roles in Houston Grand Opera's (HGO) outreach program Opera to Go!, where his recent roles include Alfredo in The Puffed Up Prima Donna and The Boy in The Velveteen Rabbit. Other recent operatic roles have included The Barber in Man of La Mancha with Central City Opera, Will Tweedy in Carlisle Floyd's Cold Sassy Tree, as well as Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore at the Moores Opera House, Le Jeu in Les Plaisirs de Versailles by Marc-Antoine Charpentier with Ars Lyrica Houston (September 2016), and Toby in The Medium with Opera in the Heights (2015-2016).
In addition, Alexander Scheuermann's concert work includes regular performances as a soloist with the Bach Society Houston (Director: Rick Erickson), the Three Texan Tenors (joined in 2016) and the Lone Star Lyric cabaret series. He currently lives in Hoston, Texas. |
