The German mezzo-soprano, Claudia Schubert, studied from singing at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt with Elsa Cavelti, from 1986 to 1992. She also participated in master-classes of Laura Sarti in London. From 1987 to 1991 she had artist scholarship of the Deutschen Volkes.
Already since 1987 Claudia Schubert is regularly active as a concert singer. Since that time she has appeared in many important music centres of Europe, in Israel, Japan, Canada, and the USA. She has also appeared in important festivals of early music, such as Utrecht, Brügge, Göttingen, and Halle, and has co-operated with renowned conductors, like Jordi Savall, Frieder Bernius, Hermann Max, Reinhard Goebel, Ton Koopman, Frans Brüggen, John Eliot Gardiner, and many others. Guest appearances in Opera Houses in Frankfurt, Brussels and Salzburg supplement her activity. She has taken part in numerous recordings on labels as Orfeo, EMI, Harmonia Mundi, Philips und Virgin Classics. |
