The Amrerican baritone, Charles Edwin Sciascia, obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Italian with a minor in music from the Florida State University (2018); and his Master of Music degree Vocal Performance from the Florida State University’s College of Music (August 2020-December 2022) under the tutelage of vocal pedagogue and bass-baritone David Okerlund.
Charles Sciascia's previous roles include Beppe in Gaetano Donizetti's One-Act Opera Rita (2018) and Oronte in G.F. Handel's Alcina (2018). He also performed Act III of Jules Massenet's Werther for a Florida State University's Opera Workshop Showcase (2018). Charles Sciascia sang the role of Ferrando in an English-reduction of W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte for a handful of middle schools a part of Florida State University's Opera Outreach program (2019). He started the year advancing to the Finals of Ocala Symphony Orchestra's Young Artist Competition (2020). In December he sang several performances as the tenor soloist in George Frideric Handel's Messiah with the Panama City Pops under the baton of David Ott. In August 2019 at the Savannah Voice Festival, he performed the roles of the Vain man and the Snake in Rachel Portman's rendition of The Little Prince, conducted by Michael Ching. Charles Sciascia is currently based in Lugano, Switzerland. |
