Lucas Singer (Bass)

Born: 1983 - Germany

The German bass, Lucas Singer, grew in a musical family and received since the age of 7 lessons in piano and clarinet. After graduation, he completed piano studies at the Essener Folkwang-Hochschule with Professor Bernhard Wambach, which he completed in summer 2007 with a diploma. Simultaneously, he received a basic vocal training from his father, the opera singer and singing pedagogue Hartmut Singer. In the winter semester 2007-2008 Lucas Singer moved to the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, the class of Professor Mechthild Georg, to continue his singing lessons. In addition, he previously took part in master-classes with Kurt Moll and Reinhard Leisenheimer. In addition, he successfullt graduated from the master singing studies at the Zentrum für Internationales Kunstmanagement Köln (CIAM).

Concert tours and guest performances have taken Lucas Singer to the USA and Central America. In addition to his busy schedule as a concert singer, he gained experience in various opera productions. First, he was heard as Fabrizio Dei Ritorti in Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari's Il Campiello in a production of Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. In summer 2010, he appeared as Johann Friedrich Oberlin in Wolfgang Rihm's opera Jakob Lenz at the Städtischen Bühnen Münster. As a guest in the same year he could be heard at the Städtischen Bühnen Münster in the world premiere of the jazz opera Vom Fischer und seiner Frau by Ingfried Hoffmann. There, he took part in 2011 in Marius Felix Lange;s Schneewittchen. In September 2011 he sang Sarastro in Mozart's Zauberflöte the Teatro Nacional in Managua/Nicaragua.

Upcoming engagements include inter alia additional roles at the Kinderoper Köln and in the children's opera productions of the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.
