Yuki Sugiyama (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: Japan

The Japanese mezzo-soprano, Yuki Sugiyama [Japanese: 杉山 由紀], graduated from the Musashino Academia Musicae Graduate School and the Nikikai Opera Training Institute (Grand Prize, Kawasaki Shizuko Prize, Director's Prize). She reeceived first place at the All Japan Student Music Competition, among other awards.

Yuki Sugiyama has appeared as Ruggiero in George Frideric Handel's Alcina and Junon in Plate. She is a member of the Tokyo Nikikai Opera. She performed there recently Kate Pinkerton in Puccini's Madama Butterfly (2024). At the New National Theatre Tokyo sang Flora Bervoix in Verdi's La Traviata (2024) and Un pâtre (A shepherd) + 2 roles in Suor Angelica / L'Enfant et les Sortilèges by Puccini / Ravel (2023). At Spring Festival in Tokyo she sang Fricka in gala concert of R. Wagner Der Ring des Nibelungen (2024).
