The Hungarian soprano and harpsichordist, Anna Szentes-Subedi, started playing piano whenshe was 4 years old at Gödöllői Frédéric Chopin Zeneiskolában, where she was until she was 14 a student of Katalin Barta. Then she enrolled at Szent István Király Zeneművészeti Szakközépiskola in Budapest solfeggio and piano faculty. In the first three years she studied with the piano teacher Erzsébet Kőrösiné Belák. She started to sti8y the harpsichord in hee third year at the conservatory, and in her forth year became a harpsichord student of student of Csilla Alföldy-Boruss. In 2011 she took part in the Országos csembaló versenyen (National Harpsichord Competition) held at the Weiner Leó Zeneművészeti Szakközépiskolában, where she won first prize.
In addition to work together on several occasions as contiuno player of the Zuglói Filharmónia- Szent István Király Szimfonikus Zenekarral, Anna Szentes participated on February 25-26, 2012 in the Pastorale concert series under the request of the conductor Kálmán Igazgató Záborszky, and played J.S. Bach's A major Harpsichord Concerto in the Harpsichord Competition also with the Szent István Király Szimfonikus Zenekar közreműködésével, which this year bears the title of Nemzeti Ifjúsági Zenekar (National Youth Orchestra).
In 2011, Anna Szentes made a successful entrance examination of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music faculty harpsichord, where she stidieed for Bachelor of Artsa degree with the teacher Borbála Dobozy. In the first year, 2012, she participated in the Prágai Nemzetközi Csembalóversenyre (Prague International Harpsichord Competition), and managed to get to the second round. In 2010, she attended the Savaria Régi Zene Műhely (Savaria Early Music Workshop) directed by the harpsichordist Rita Papp and Miklós Spányi, and in András Kemenes harpsichord and fortepiano master-class in Visegrad, as well as the organization of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music with Ketil Haugsand and Bernardo Klaprott foreign music academy invited guest teacher of master-classes. In the summers of 2012 and 2013 she took part in Scloss Benrath Nemezetközi Early Music Summer Academy in Düsseldorf, where I was a student of harpsichordist Christine Schornsheim.
Parallel to her university education, Anna Szentes graduated in singing from Szent István Zeneművészeti Szakközépiskolában (Class of 2010) snd studied also in private with Júlia Barna and Judit Adrigán. Middle schools offered a variety of options for performing on several occasions. As a member of the Zuglói Filharmónia- Szent István Király Oratóriumkórus, she could often sing masterpieces of the history of music on the stage of the Hungarian and international music sstages under the baton of the finest conductors. Courtesy of the conductor Kálmán she sang her first opera role, Donizetti's opera L'elisir d'amore.. She had the opportunity also to perform with the Zuglói Filharmónia the role of Hanne in Haydn's The Seasons at Páduai Szt. Antal templomban, and in December 2012 she appeared at the Budapesti Szent István Bazilikában in W.A. Mozart's Laudate Dominum and Camille Saint-Saëns's Christmas Oratorio as a soprano choral and orchestral soloist, in January 2013 she sang in the premiere of András Szalai's A Pelikánmadár. So far, she has taken part in several national singing competitions, and obtained prizes. Furthermore, she was engaged as soprano soloist by Felsővízivárosi Szent Anna templom. In the summer of 2013 she attended the Crescendo Nyári Akadémián, the master Summer Academy of the Hungarian State Opera singer Tünde Szabóki. In 2013, she studied singing singing at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music with Ingrid Kertesi as the teacher. She finished her studies at the and at Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest in 2015.
Anna Szentes married Hari Subedi on August 17, 2019. Since 2020, she studies at Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest in the DLA program. After she obtained an Erasmus+ and the Campus Mundi scholarships, she studied from 2017 to 2019 at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She gained here further experiences on stage with the opera exams in the role of Ginevra in George Frideric Handel's Aridante and Lucia in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor which was directed by Hugo Segers. She participated in master-courses by Erika Miklósa, Xavier Sabata, Júlia Hamari, Michael Chance, Lena Lootens, György Vashegyi, Jan Van de Weghe, Elizabetta Andreani, Riccardo Mascia, Anna Korondi, Andrea Rost, Tünde Szabóki, Claudio di Segni and Thomas Hampson.
Anna Subedi performs regularly at orchestral concerts, song and chamber music events, contemporary music productions and as a soloist of sanctified music concerts. |
