Vera Trifanova (Soprano)

Born: Moscow, Russia

The Russian soprano, Vera Trifanova, was educated at the Moscow Conservatory Russian Theater Institute, in Professor Yury Grigoryev’s class. She graduated from the institute in 1997 as concert and chamber singer. She debuted at 19 in J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion (BWV 245) at the Chaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow. During her studies and after graduation she performed at various concerts with orchestras directed by Svetlanov, Fedoseyev, Ponkin, Rudin and Trushin as well as with the Antique Music Ensemble directed by Alexey Semyonov. In 2002, she was awarded a DAAD scholarship and entered the Opera School in Mannheim, Germany. Since 2003 she has mastered coloratura repertoire.

In 2004 Vera Trifanova debuted in Opera Theater in Baden-Baden and Staatstheater Heidelberg. In 2003 she won the international Viotti vocal contest in Italy. She won a scholarship for Eric Tappi's master course in 2004 and performed part of Druzilla in L'Incoronazione di Popea by Monteverdi , directed by Eric Tappi, in France. While at Opera School in Mannheim she attended master-classes by Tom Krause and Claudia Eder. In 2005 she graduated from the Opera school with a cum laude diploma.

Vera Trifanova has performed at numerous concerts with orchestras from Germany, France, Italy and Czech conducted by K. Arp, Howard Griffiths, K. Eisenmann, H-R. Drengemann, P. Schumann, V. Christ, M. Zepp, R. Techet and others. In 2007 she was invited to perform the parts of Königin der Nacht and Arsena at a jubilee Festival in Zwingenberg, Germany. Since 2007 she has attended post-graduate studies at the Staatlichen Hochschule fuer Musik in Mannheim. A three-week concert-tour through Mexico with the Russian Chamberphilharmony St.Petersburg followed in 2008.

Vera Trifanova won the 12th International vocal contest “Cittа di Alcamo”, which took place on September 29 - October 4, 2009 in Alcamo, Italy. She was one of the 77 participants from several countries. The contest was judged by an international jury headed by the outstanding soprano singer Raina Kabaivanska.
