The Swiss tenor and choral conductor, Paolo Vignoli, was born of Italian parents. After studying German, Italian literature and musicology, he devoted himself entirely to music and studied solo singing in Winterthur, Bern and London.
Paolo Vignoli started to be very busy as a lyric tenor in oratorio and opera tours throughout Europe, Israel, Egypt and Asia. His wide repertoire includes radio and CD recordings from the Renaissance to Modern Times. He is also in demand as a tenor soloist at festivals such as in Zürich, Prague and Lucerne.
Paolo Vignoli was already multiple conductor in large musical events in Switzerlan, and was and is the conductor of several choirs: Chor Kultur und Volk Basel (2001-2010), Chor 50 Basel (2004-2010), SoFa-Chor Zürich (since 2002), Männerchor Eintracht Flawil (since 2010) and Alpha-cappella, Chor der ZHAW (since 2008). In his productions there is always the mediation of music from different backgrounds and styles. He is doing this, as he explains in the introduction, overcoming limits. In his understanding of music is never the island, but always the sea.
Since 2006, Paolo Vignoli is also increasingly dedicated to educational activities and the exchange in musical projects such as, among others, in the context of, 'superar', a European project, pupils from seven to twelve years receive intensive lessons in singing, dancing and instrumental music under professional management: Music can and will move, is his firm conviction. |
