The American bass, composer music teacher, Matthew Vitti, received his Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Lawrence Conservatory under the tutelage of Kenneth Bozeman, specializing in German Lieder, and poetry, which, in 2004, he studied intensely for 6 months in Vienna. In 2004 and 2005, he was the recipient of the 1st place prize at NATS Wisconsin. He has studied drums with Connecticut native, Jim Lang, composition and vocal pedagogy with Arthur Sjögren, and 21st Century Composition -Analysis and Technique with Professor Jessica Rudman at The Hartt School of Music.
A seasoned, multi-faceted artist, Matthew Vitti currently resides in upstate New York, where he produces original music ranging from large-scale orchestral works to avant-garde rock, and aleatoric recorded works. As an instrumentalist, singer, producer, and recording engineer for the past 15 years, he continues to collaborate with various artists from New York City and the greater Tri-State area. As a singer, he sings as bass soloist in the concerts at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Albany. In April 2025, he was accepted to the prestigious composition program, The Mostly Modern Festival, as a festival composer. He currently lives in Albany, New York. |
