The Dutch contralto and mezzo-soprano, Lisinka de Vries, studied at the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag, where in 1993 she passed the exam for music education. In 1996, she obtained the diploma in the Subject Opera. She studied successively with Herman Woltman, Marianne Dieleman and Wout Oosterkamp. In addition, she attended master-classes with Diane Forlano and Cristina Deutekom. Currently she is managed by Joke de Vin. In Conservatory productions she sang several opera roles such as Amore (La Dafne by Gagliano), Valletto (L'incoronazione by Monteverdi) and Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro by W.A. Mozart). Her final presentation consisted of a set staged solo program directed by David Prince. In addition to these productions she performed The Tempest by Henry Purcell and sang in Germany the role of Messagiera with the Rheinische Kantorei under the baton of Hermann Max. During her studies she was frequently engaged as a soloist with the oratorio repertoire especially J.S. Bach and W.A. Mozart.
Lisinka de Vries appears a soloist and in chamber music recitals sings regularly with oratorio choirs in works by J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, Haydn and many other composers. She has performed under the direction of conductors such as Jos van Veldhoven, Ruud Huybregts, Jeroen Felix and Peter Dijkstra. In 2003 she was finalist at the Erna Spoorenberg vocal presentation with her interpretation of the oratorio repertoire. Currently she works with the pianist Peter Nilsson on a recital program entitled "Island Magic". This program will be heard at various locations in the Netherlands and planned to be recorded on CD. In addition she sings in various professional ensembles such as Collegium Vocale Gent under the baton of Philippe Herreweghe, Nederlands Kamerkoor and the Groot Omroepkoor, with which she is connected since 2005. With this ensemble she made a number of CD recordings and she regularly participates in radio and TV productions. |
