The German mezzo-soprano, Anne Weinkauf, studied at Rudolf-Hildebrand-Schule Markkleeberg (Class of 1983). She studied singing with Hartmut Zabel and singing education at the Hochschule für Musik "Carl Maria von Weber" in Dresden (Class of 1996). As part of the Erasmus exchange program, she was given the opportunity to study for a semester at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.
Already during her studies, Anne Weinkauf made her debut as the 3. Knabe in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at the Mittelächsische Theater Freiberg/Döbeln. Since the 2003-2004 season, she is engaged in the im Chor des Anhaltischen Theaters Dessau. In addition to the chorus duties, she has performed numerous solo roles, including: Gavroche in Les Miserables, Denise Die Verlobung bei der Laterne, Dete Heidi, Olga Olsen in Street Scene, 3rd Elf in Rusalka, 3rd Lady in Die Zauberflöte, 2nd Witch in Dido and Aeneas and in the openair production Landscape - Kritik der Liebe. At the guest performance of the Theaters in Coesfeld in April 2009, she sang the Lady Thiang in The King and I. In recent years she sang in Dessau roles as 3. Actor in Der Protagonist as well as Consuelo in Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story, Anitra in Peer Gynt, performed in the children's operas Schaf and Max und Moritz. In 2012, she took over the role of Wellgunde in the production Götterdämmerung and will also be performing in this role in the Wiederaufnahme and Das Rheingold. She currently lives in Dessau-Roßlau, Germany. |
