Rachel Yeo (Soprano)

Born: June 5, ____ - Los Angeles, California, USA

The Korean-American soprano, Rachel Yeo, obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Healthcare and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance, both then from Mount Saint Mary's University (August 2012-May 2016); Master of Science degree in Project Management from University of Southern California (February 2021-May 2023).

Rachel Yeo brings a wide range of experience to both solo and ensemble performance. Favorite roles include Ngon Hong in On Gold Mountain, Soeur Constance in Francis Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmélites. She originated the role of Kiyohime in the workshop of Dojyoji at Boston Court Pasadena and was a featured ensemble member in the film adaptation of Gordon Getty's opera Plump Jack. She is a member of the LA Opera Chorus (since June 2025) and has performed with other local companies including LA Opera Connects, Opera Buffs, Lyric Opera of Orange County, Independent Opera Company, and Pacific Opera Project. In July 2026, she performed the role of Young Woman in Kamala Sankaram's A.E. Reverie at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival. In May 2026, she also performed as a soloist in Voices of Asia at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre.

A seasoned choral singer and recitalist, Rachel Yeo most recently performed as the soprano soloist for J.S. Bach's Magnificat in D major BWV 243, J.S. Bach's Cantata Gloria in excelsis Deo, BWV 191, and Charpentier's Messe de Minuit pour Noël with I Cantori di Carmel. As a member of the two-time GRAMMY®-winning vocal ensemble Tonality, she was a soloist in HomeCare: A Concert on Climate Change. She is also a member of the LA Master Chorale & Adoro Ensemble. Her recent recitals include performances at Northridge at Noon and POPtoberfest, part of Pacific Opera Project's Artist Recital Series. Rachel was a soloist with the Roger Wagner Chorale on their 2022 Japan tour and has been featured in the LA Korean Cultural Center's 2022 Ari Project and St. Andrew Church's Annual Bach to Broadway Concert Series.

Offstage, Rachel Yeo is the co-founder (July 2025) of NorthStar Studios LA, a boutique creative consultancy specializing in strategic marketing, branding, and design for arts organizations and independent artists. A systems-thinker with experience across municipal government, healthcare, and higher education, she holds a Master's in Project Management and brings a collaborative, values-driven approach to helping creative organizations tell their stories with clarity and authenticity.
