David Yung (Baritone)

Born: Canada

The Canadian baritone, David Yung, completed his undergraduate degree at Western University in London, Ontario, studying voice with Dr. Darryl Edwards.

Currently based in Toronto, David Yung has performed as an occasional and regular member of the Tafelmusik Chamber Choir since 2015, thrilled to be immersed in the passion and vitality this organization brings to Baroque repertoire. David has served as a longtime member of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and Mendelssohn Singers as well as the Nathaniel Dett Chorale, having toured extensively with this organization throughout Canada and the USA. He is a founding member of the Aspirare Vocal Collective and Soundstreams’ Choir 21, and has performed with the Elmer Iseler Singers, Elora Festival Singers, Amadeus Choir, Arcady, Opera Atelier, Tallis Choir, Etobicoke Centennial Choir, and Black Creek Festival Chorus. He has worked in musical styles spanning the medieval to contemporary, and even sung back-up vocals for Roger Hodgson (Supertramp). He is an experienced church and synagogue musician, currently serving as a Bass Lead at St. Thomas’s Anglican Church and Holy Blossom Temple, and sings regularly with the National Catholic Broadcasting Council as a Daily Mass Cantor.
