The Alpha Omega Ensemble (= AOE) believes in music's boundless ability to communicate and enrich the human spirit. Through performances of works old and new that reflect a commitment to musical values, artistic and spiritual creativity, and social responsibility, the ensemble's mission is to provide hope, inspiration, and opportunities for artists, audience, and communities everywhere through the gift of music.
The Alpha Omega Ensemble's ambition is to reach a broad audience. This is in reference to its interests as well as to its geographic location. They perform throughout the USA and abroad for all types of audiences. No experience is necessary of the audience members, but young and old, and novice and veteran concert goers can expect to feel galvanized by our inspiring performances.
The Alpha Omega Ensemble was founded with the specific goal of reaching out to audiences not often found in the concert hall. They aim to perform in a manner which effectively and vibrantly communicates the music's meaning. Begun with the intent to perform the sacred cantatas of J.S. Bach in English, their repertoire has grown to encompass a wide range of primarily sacred music repertoire of all time periods. They also work to promote the composition and performance of contemporary repertoire through the commissioning and performance of new works on a regular basis.
Led by Brian DeMaris (New York City Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Ash Lawn Opera Festival, International Vocal Arts Institute, Emmanuel Music), The Alpha Omega Ensemble has a perpetually growing roster of devoted musicians of national and international renown. They are graduates of some of the most prestigious institutions (Juilliard School, Eastman School of Music, New England Conservatory, Aspen Music Festival, and Tanglewood Music Institute), and have performed with some of the largest symphony orchestras, oratorio societies, and opera houses throughout the world (The Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Santa Fe Opera, The Royal Opera House at Covent Garden, Bethlehem Bach Festival, Carmel Bach Festival, Boulder Bach Festival, Emmanuel Music, and Boston Baroque). Musicians are engaged per concert depending on specifics such as The location of the performance and the repertoire being performed. |
