The Italian conductor, Andrea Crastolla, trained and graduated with full marks at the Conservatories of Bari and Matera, in Choral Composition and Choral Direction, Singing and Conducting. He studied Composition with L. Laserra Ingrosso and M.P. Sepe, Choral Composition and Chorus Direction with C. Moscariello, Singing with F. Marasciulo, and Conducting with A. Cericola, G. Pelliccia and D. Belardinelli. He specialized in Renaissance music with M. Berrini and D. Tabbia, in contemporary polyphonic composition with M. Zuccante and G. Bonato, choir conducting with P.P. Scattolin, P. Leec. K. Kraticjnsky, Gary Graden, Filippo Maria Bressan.
Andrea Crastolla specializes in the early vocal and instrumental repertoire with particular attention to the philosophy of the musical text, he also distinguishes himself in the interpretation of the great contemporary Italian and European choral school. His performances have been reviewed by authoritative specialized magazines such as Opera and Classic Voice. He has numerous concerts in Italy and abroad, and five absolute first prizes in national and international competitions. He has collaborated with musicians such as Nevila Kalaja, Francesco Zingariello, Federico Mondelci, Rachele Stanisici, Giuseppe Liberto, Paolo Marzocchi, Adriano Pennino, Salvatore Accardo, Ivan Fedele, and conductors such as Gianluigi Gelmetti, Daniel Oren, Alberto Veronesi, Antonio Cericola, Daniele Agiman, Filippo Maria Bressan, Marcello Panni, Luciano Acocella, and others. He was choir-master for the Accademia del Teatro di Cagli, Festival Lirico di Casamari, Lecce Opera Season at the Teatro Politeama Greco, Teatro Verdi di Salerno and Fondazione dell’ orchestra Ico T. Schipa di Lecce. He also collaborated with the Orchestra della Magna Grecia di Taranto, Orchestra Ico di Bari, Lecce Baroque Orchestra, with the Cappella Sistina for the Messa di Santificazione di S. Pio da Pietralcina.
Andrea Crastolla has conducted the Orchestra Duni di Matera, Orchestra Sinfonica Ico T. Schipa di Lecce (2011-2014), Orchestra Ico della Magna Grecia (July 2018), Orchestra da Camera di Durazzo, Filarmonica Nino Rota, Lecce Baroque Orchestra, Salento Consort, Coro Regionale ARCoPu, Coro Giovanile Italiano, Coro Giordano di Foggia, Apuliae Chorus, Eurocorolirico, Coro Lirico di Lecce, Coro del Teatro Verdi di Salerno (December 2019), Coro Regionale Arcopu, L.A. Chorus (since 2016).
Andrea Crastolla was a teacher of the International Study Tour for Feniarco. He currently teaches Choir Direction and Choral Composition at the B Conservatorio Bruno Maderna di Cesena (since February 2022). He currently lives in Lecce, Italy. |
