The Australian choral conductor, Laurie Gaffney, completed her tertiary studies at Armidale, Macquarie and Queensland Universities
Laurie Gaffney is the founder and director of Imogen Singing, which includes The Imogen Children's Chorale, various chamber groups, the Imogen Men's Chorus, and The Queensland Philharmonic Chorale. Her career as a choral conductor extends over a period of thirty years during which time she has combined studying, teaching, and recording,with a demanding performance schedule. She prepares choirs and choruses for concerts, opera and oratorio, sound tracks and recordings, massed choir performances, Music Festivals, and major public events.
Laurie Gaffney has worked as a teacher-demonstrator, lecturer and curriculum consultant in schools and universities in NSW, Queensland and England. Along with music, She has a deep interest in history, literature and languages and teaches singing in classes and workshops for children and adults at her singing school in Sherwood, Brisbane. |
