The German trumpeter, Karl-Heinz Georgi, who played trumpet in the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig 43 years (1979-2022), including 27 years as principal trumpeter. He played in this orchestra under the Music Directors: Kurt Masur (from joining until 1996), Herbert Blomstedt (1998-2005), Riccardo Chailly (2005-2016) and Andris Nelsons (since 2018 until retirerment). In 2022, he retired from the orchestra. But he is far from having hung up his musical instrument.
