Carl Gorvin (real name: Karl Egon Glückselig) was a German conductor and harpsichordist. His father was the organist Carl Max Glückselig (1884-1957); his sister the actress Joana Maria Gorvin (real name. Gerda Maria Glückselig) (1922-1993). In July 1954 he conducted the Berliner Philharmoniker in works by W.A. Mozart. In the mid 1950’s he was conductor of the Bach-Orchester Berlin.
Carl Gorvin recorded, anmong others, instrumental works of J.S. Bach, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Friedrich II, Johann Gottlieb Graun, George Frideric Handel, Johann Joachim Quantz and Leoplod Mozart and cantatas of J.S. Bach and Dietrich Buxtehude.. |
