The German soprano, Friederike Holzhausen, received her musical training first with her father Wolf Reinhold. She completed her singing studies with Professor Hermann Christian Polster in Leipzig, and finished with the concert exam.
After her studies, Friederike Holzhausen appeared with the Gewandhausorchester and the Gewandhouschor in Die Schöpfung by J. Haydn at the Leipzig's Gewandhaus, J.S. Bach's Mattäeus-Passion (BWV 244) at the Köln's Philharmonie as well as in various chamber music programmes with Gewandhaus' organist Michael Schönheit. Oratorio parts followed at the Thomaskirche, Berlin's Philharmonie, as well as tours through Italy, Denmark and Poland.
Already during her studies Friederike Holzhausen was artistic female assistant at the Leipzig's Musikhochschule, mamaged her own singing class and taught at the Kirchenmusikalischen Institut. Since 1995 she has acted as free-lance singer, dedicating herself primarilty to the concert and ratorio gneres as well as chamber music. Thus she made music under Herbert Blomstedt, Thomaskantor Georg Christoph Biller, with the Münchner Bachsolisten, Deutsche Bachsolisten, Bachorchester Leipzig, Neues Bachisches Collegium Musicum, as well as the MDR-Kammerphilharmonie. Together with Ludwig Güttler and the Virtuosi Saxoniae she sang several times J.S. Bach's solo cantata Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen (BWV 51), for example at the Dresden's Frauenkirche in December 2000. She also appears regularly at renowned Festivals, such as Händefest Halle, Musikwochen in Hitzacker, MDR-Musiksommer, Musikfestival Mecklenbur, etc.
