The Swiss tenor, Bernhard Hunziker, studied singing at the Musikhochschule in Zürich (diploma SMPV), and with Paul Lohmann in Frankfurt / Main. He gained the Soloist Diploma at the Musikhochschule in Munich in the master-class of Ernst Haefliger. This was followed by an engagement at the International Opera Studio of the Opernhauses Zürich. Next he spent at the Institut für Evangelische Kirchenmusik in Zürich (diploma Kantor) and additional studies at the Universities of Zürich and Munich (Musicology). He attended master-classes with Peter Pears (England) and Irwin Gage (Lieder interpretation) in Zürich. He won study prizes at the Migros- Genossenschafts-Bund, the Schweizer Tonkünstler Verein, the Kiefer-Hablitzel-Stiftung and 2000-2001 Award of the Aargauer Kuratoriums.
In addition to the lively international activity as a concert, opera and Lieder singer, Bernhard Hunziker has recorded various LP, CD, radio and television recordings. He is musical director of the Bach Collegium Zürich, artistic director of Chamber Music series "Geheimtipp am Mittag", a lecturer at the HMT (Hochschule Musik und Theater) Zürich and a member of the Schweizer Verband der Gesangslehrenden (Swiss Association of Singing Teachers = EVTA). Since October 1, 2010, he is Professor at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. |
