The Turkish conductor, Ahmet Kenan Kahyaoğlu, studied between 1979 and 1984 at DEU GSF Music Research Department; between 1979 and 1990 he studied piano with Betül Çağlar, Adnan Atalay, Nurhan Cangal and Vedat Çorbacı; and between 2007 and 2009 he studied conducting with Winfried Müller, General Music Director of Izmir State Opera, 20th century contrapunt techniques with Onur Nurcan, conducting with Jean Bealy and Tulio Gagliardo, General Music Director of İzmir Devlet Opera ve Balesi.
Ahmet Kahyaoğlu, who started his career as a choral singer and pianist, has been working at İzmir Devlet Opera ve Balesi since 1983. In the 1985-1986 season, he worked as a music instructor in the children's play Polaria. Between 1986 and 1988, he worked as the pianist of İZDOB Çocuk Korosu'nun (IZDOB Children's Choir).
