The Dutch/Belgian soprano, Marie van Luijk, obtained her Masters degree in Classical Singing in the class of Catrin Wyn-Davies at LUCA School of Arts. She also studied at The Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where she mainly focused on early music singing.
Marie van Luijk loves to perform in her own and other people’s music-theater shows. Creativity, (vocal) exploration and intuition in every possible way, are key words in her work, therefor she would rather describe herself as a vocal artist than as a classical singer. As of 2022, she has also taken a broad interest in writing poetry as well. She is taking lessons with David Troch in her hometown Ghent.
As a music teacher, Marie van Luijk did an international internship and worked for the School for Young Talent in Suriname. Marie has always been very active in the youth work field and has done volunteering work for many years. This sprouted her passion for teaching and working with children, teenagers and adults in singing, music and arts in general. She is currently a singing teacher at the Academy of Geel and Deinze (Belgium). |
