The Russian conductor, Roman Yurevich Moiseyev (Russian: Роман Моисеев; Chinese:
罗曼 莫伊谢耶夫), He received his primary musical education at the M. Ippolitov-Ivanov Musical School. He studied at the famous Academic College of Music of the Moscow State Conservatory, and later at the Russian Gnesin Academy of Music (1985-1992) and P.I.Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory with Gennady Rozhdestvensky (1993-1994) and Dmitri Kitaenko (1994-1998). There, he displayed a number of valuable professional qualities - "bright emotionality, true sense of style, well-developed performance energy and manual technique easily perceived by the artists of the orchestra..." He also improved his mastery at the master classes of famous Professors Iliya Musin in Saint-Petersburg and Arnold Katz in Novosibirsk.
Roman Moiseyev is one of the brightest representatives of the Russian Conducting School. His musical career as a young conductor started when he was 19. After his graduation from the Academic Music College at the Moscow State Conservatory he organized the Moscow Chamber Choir at the M.Gorky Palace of Culture, where he served for 10 years as the art director and conductor of the choir. In 1992-1995 he organized and was the Chief Conductor of the choir and orchestra of the Moscow Philharmonic Cappella.
In 1995 Roman Moiseyev conducted the Symphonic orchestra of the Adygeya Republic. In 1996-1997 he became the head of the Youth Symphonic Orchestra at the Gnessins Russian Academy of Music. Since 1999 he served as Musical Director of the Buryat Opera and Ballet Theatre where he staged a number of performances including The Queen of Spades by P.I. Tchaikovsky and Die Fledermaus (The Bat) by J. Strauss II. Since 2006 he has been conductor of the Moscow Symphonic Orchestra...
Roman Moiseyev is one of the most interesting Russian conductors of his generation. At present, he co-operates with the best symphony orchestras, opera houses,and soloists from Russia. His creative work has been highly appraised in Belarus, Germany, Hungary, India, Israel, Japan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Mongolia, Ukraine, and USA. He draws in young talented musicians to participate in his performances from as far as Russia, USA, Japan, Korea, Israel, India and other countries. He also conducts workshops for beginning conductors.
A considerable repertoire of Roman Moiseyev embraces symphonic and cantata-oratory compositions, including works by Prokofiev, Sergei Rachmaninov, Sviridov, Igor Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky, Dmitri Shostakovich, J.S. Bach, Leonard Bernstein, L.v. Beethoven, Johannes Brahmss, Bruckner, Gustav Mahler, W.A. Mozart, Sibelius, R. Strauss, Schubert and R. Wagner. In addition, his repertoire includes more than 20 opera and ballet performances. He pays special attention to the creative works of composer-romanticists.
Author of publications, reviews, collections. Chairman of the All-Russian public movement «Classical Musical Art - Service to the Cause of Peace». Member of the International Union of Musical Figures. He was awarded the Badge of Honor of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Diploma for participation in the Cultural life of Donbass (2018), the Letter of Appreciation from the Government of Moscow (2019), etc. |
