The Spanish harpsichordist and conductor, Alberto Martínez Molina, began his musical studies at the Conservatorio de Madrid and studied harpsichord at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with David Roblou and in Amsterdam with Richard Egarr.
Alberto Martínez Molina is a founding member the ensemble Hippocampus, with which he has recorded three albums for the label Arsis . Furthermore, for the same record label, he has recorded duo sonatas of L. Boccherini and D. Porretti with cellist Iagoba Fanlo and sonatas for viola da gamba and harpsichord by J.S. Bach with the gambist Fahmi Alqhai .Since its first edition in 2004, Molina is co-artistic director of the series “Música en las iglesias de Madrid. Las Cantatas de J.S. Bach”, which deals with the live performance of the integral of these works. Hippocampus is, under his direction, one of the resident groups.
Alberto Martínez Molina jas collaborated with various groups and orchestras specializing in early music and has worked solo and duet with Jaap Schröder, Wieland Kuijken, Christophe Coin or Hiro Kurosaki.
Alberto Martínez Molina coordinates the Early Music Department of the Academy Maese Pedro' and combines his concert activity with teaching at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, where he is the main Professor of basso continuo and responsible for the harpsichord department since 1999 . |
