The American pianist and baritone, Jefferson Packer, holds a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from San Francisco State University, where he was a student of William Corbett-Jones. He has also studied voice privately for over fifteen years, and is currently studying with Dr. Julia Nielsen.
Jefferson Packer has been active as a collaborative pianist and baritone since moving to San Francisco over two decades ago. As the bass soloist at Calvary Presbyterian Church (since February 2019), he leads sectionals from the keyboard in addition to his singing duties. He was a staff accompanist at Santa Clara University, and has done accompaniment work for the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, and Pocket Opera, as well as multiple recitals with singers and instrumentalists. He has also been Bass-Baritone at Grace Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys (November 1999-July 2006); Former High Holy Days Choirmember at Peninsula Temple Beth El in San Francisco (September 2006-October 2010); Bass-Baritone at Volti in San Francisco (September 2014-June 2022); Bass section leader and accompanist at Congregation Beth Am in Los Gatos (August 2016-February 2021); Bass-baritone at San Francisco Renaissance Voices (since December 2009); Bass section leader and rehearsal accompanist at Congregation Sherith Israel (since July 2021); Rehearsal Accompanist at Young Women's Choral Projects of San Francisco (YWCP) (since September 2021); Bass-baritone at Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra & Chorale (since February 2022; Directors: Nicholas McGegan/Richard Egarr); Bass-Baritone substitute at Congregation Emanu-El (since April 2022).
