The Polish organist, Roman Perucki, graduated in 1985 from the Music Academy in Gdańsk in the organ class of Professor Leon Bator and up from 1985 is teaching there, now as the professor of the organ class. He also teaches in a secondary schools. He had continued his studies in master-classes in Poland and abroad.
Roman Perucki is a chief organist in the cathedral in Gdańsk Oliwa and a counsellor of the President of the Gdansk City in a band of organ. He is managing director of the Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra (at present constructing a new, modern concert hall - Congress-Music Centre), the President of Society “Musica Sacra” and Society of Friends of the Cathedral in Gdańsk Oliwa. He contributed to arise new instruments in Gdańsk and in it’s neighbourhood. He is the manager of the oldest in Poland, the International Organ Music in the Cathedral in Oliwa and International J.P. Sweelinck Competition in Gdańsk, as well as other international organ-music cycles (in Gdańsk, Frombork. Jastarnia, Stegna, Morąg, Rumia, Żarnowiec).
Roman Perucki is a member of the jury of International Organ Competitions in Kaltern (Italy), Opava (Czech Republik), Kaliningrad (Russia), Paris (France) and of course many organ competitions in Poland.Till toady he has played many than 2,000 organ concerts: solo recitals, as well as with accompany chamber and symphonic orchestras, soloists and dou-concerts with his wife Maria Perucka (violinist). He performed in whole Europe, Russia, Japan,. Canada, USA and Australia. In 2005 he played at the Notre Dame in Paris and in the Gent’s Cathedral. He also directs master-classes in Poland, Portugal, Mexico, Russia and France.
Roman Perucki has recorded a lot of CD’s. He records for Polish TV and Polish Radio as well as for foreign phonographic producers. He was given the Culture Prize from Ministry of Culture, many prizes from the authorities of the Town Gdańsk and the highest Vatican’s distinction “Pro ecclesiae et pontifice”, which he appreciates the most. |
