The Italian conductor, Antonio Pessetto, studied at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica “A. Steffani“ in Castelfranco Veneto, majoring in Piano, Organ and Composition. After his studies he met Maestro Ludmil Descev, conductor of the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet in the state of Sofia, with whom he studied for two years conducting at the l’Istituto musicale “A. Benvenuti”. in Conegliano. In 1991 and 1993 he attended the international summer courses for chamber orchestra held in Sofia with which conducted several concerts.
In April 1994 he was invited to Bulgaria, where he conducted the State Symphony Orchestra of Shumen . In 1995 and 1996 he was a finalist in the International Competition for Conductors "Toti dal Monte". In May 1997, he was awarded the 3rd prize at the 6th National Competition of Composition of Castagneto Carducci. In 1999 he met Maestro Giancarlo Andretta, with whom he studied until graduating in October 2001 conducting at the Conservatorio "Giuseppe Verdi" in Milan.
As a composer he collaborates with the theater company Faber Teater in Turin, with which he staged the play Centomila gavette di ghiaccio from the book of Julius Bedell presented in many cities of Veneto.
He also works as an organist for the basso continuo with the chamber orchestra Lorenzo Da Ponte and the choir Reale Corte Armonica Caterina Cornaro of Asolo, conducted by Maestro Zarpellon Roberto, with whom he has held several concerts. |
