The Grman mezzo-soprano, Valerie Pfannkuch, initially studied music education with a major in violin at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. She then switched to studying singing at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. There she is currently completing her master's degree with Professor Friedemann Röhlig. She attended master-classes with Hartmut Höll, Mitsuko Shirai, Thomas Hampson, Kammersängerin Regina Werner-Dietrch, Carolin Masur and Susanne Eisch, among others.
In 2022 she took on the role of Hänsel in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel und Gretel at the Wolfgang-Rihm-Forum Karlsruhe. In addition to opera, she also devotes herself to oratorio and Lieder singing. She was recently heard in J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion BWV 244, W.A. Mozart's Requiem, Rossini's Petite Messe solennelle and in Felix Mendelssohn's Elias. She is a member of Vocalensemble Rastatt (Director: Holger Speck) and an ensemble member of Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg. |
