The German organist and church musician, Erich Piasetzki, studied church music at the Musikhochschule in Berlin-Charlottenburg from 1954 to 1958, where his organ teacher was Hans Heintze. Harpsichord studies with Silvia Kind followed.
Erich Piasetzki was active as choirmaster-organist at zhe Offenbarungskirche in Berlin since 1958. From 1959 to 1982 he additionally he operated as organ consultant for Berlin-Brandenburg. In 1967 he was appointed to the post of regional director of church music.
Erich Piasetzki's extensive concert activities in many European countries and in the USA made him a familiar figure. He was particularly interested in the interpretation of contemporary music; numerous world premieres were entrusted to him. |
