Michaela Prentl (Choral Conductor, Organ)

Born: Traunstein, Germany

The German choral conductor and organist, Michaela Prentl, received her musical training already during the school time. Afterwards, she studied at the Conservatory in Innsbruck and at the College of Music in Munich in the areas of church music and organ playing. Among her teachers were Professor Max Frey, Franz Schieri, as well as the cathedral organist Professor Franz Lehrndorfer, whose master class for organ she completed in 1985 with honour.

In 1983 Michaela Prentl took upon herself the directing of the choir of the Pfarrei of St. Sebastian in Munich-Schwabing (Chorgemeinschaft St. Sebastian), in the context of her activity as a full-time church musician. By her work and her consistent commitment the choir has developed recently to be a recognized ensemble in the music community, also beyond the boundaries of Munich.
