The Straits Baroque Soloists comprises well-established professional musicians and music educators drawn together by ties of friendship and the enthusiasm to share their profound passion for Early Music. The emsemble was founded by the bassoon player Trevor Sze in 2020. Conceived amidst the challenges of the pandemic, they endeavour to dive into the annals of Early Music and in so doing, broaden the modern audience's exposure to the richness of music of the 18th Century and earlier.
The heartbeat of early music is mostly keen felt through its instruments. Through the balance of tone and colour, the Straits Baroque Soloists are firmly committed to giving voice to the period instruments through a historically-informed performance which addresses both technique and the context. |
