Lena Sutor-Wernich (Mezzo-soprano, Contralto)

Born: Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

The German mezzo-soprano/contralto, Lena Sutor-Wernich, studied from 2007 to 2011 concert and opera singing and vocal pedagogy at the Musikhochschule Freiburg with Professor Angela Nick. Master-classes, among others with René Jacobs, Helmut Deutsch, Angelika Luz, Anne Rosing-Schow, as well as private studies with Elisabeth Glauser, Kurt Widmer and Susana Eken gave her further impetus on her way as a singer and musician.

Since 2011, Lena Sutor-Wernich has worked as a freelance concert singer and voice teacher at home and abroad. She was also a member of the Staatsopernchor Stuttgart in the 2012-2013-2014 seasons.

Lena Sutor-Wernich loves the many possibilities in the artistic, musical and vocal works. She is enthusiastic equally for the richness of sacred music through the ages as for the Romantic Liederr, for authentic musical theater, works of the 20th and 21st century and for experimental border crossings in the cooperation between the various arts.
