Angelo Testori (Tenor)

Born: Bologna, Italy

The Italian tenor, Angelo Testori, initially graduated in violin before pursuing vocal studies. He earned a degree in Renaissance and Baroque Singing with honors from the "B. Maderna" Conservatory in Cesena. Subsequently, he obtained a Master's degree in Ancient Music from the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität in Vienna, studying under Roberta Invernizzi. Further refining his skills, he completed a Master in Advanced Vocal Ensemble Studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel. He has been recognized in various competitions, securing the 3rd prize at the "Francesco Provenzale" Baroque Singing Competition in 2022. In 2023, he achieved the 3rd prize at the 6th San Colombano International Competition (sacred music section) and the 2nd prize at the Marco Uccellini International Ancient Music Competition.

Angelo Testori is specializing in Renaissance and Baroque music. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous ensembles, including Ensemble Mare Nostrum, Balthasar-Neumann-Chor (Director: Thomas Hengelbrock), Cremona Antiqua, Zürcher Sing-Akademie (Director: Florian Helgath), BachWerkVokal Salzburg (Director: Gordon Safari), Cantando Admont, and Red Dot Baroque. His performances have been well-received; for instance, his portrayal of Tancredi at the Monteverdi Festival in Cremona was noted for his "sweet-sounding voice," which he used effectively to characterize his role, displaying agility and sensitivity in embellishing the vocal line.

In July 2024, Angelo Testori performed at the Ohrid Summer Festival in North Macedonia, participating in an Italian evening with the Baroque Ensemble "Mare Nostrum." The concert featured esteemed artists, including soprano Giulia Bolcato, counter-tenor Danilo Pastore, and baritone Masashi Tomosugi, under the direction of conductor Andrea De Carlo. He is He is a member of the vocal ensemble Flos Musicae (Director: Giorgio Musolesi).
