The American tenor, Dane Thomas, obtained his Master of Music degree in Voice and Opera from Northwestern University (2008-2010). During his studies there, he performed the roles of Count Almaviva in John Corigliano’s The Ghosts of Versailles and Danilo in Franz Lehar’s The Merry Widow. In 2010, he was a finalist in the Illinois District Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. He has done apprenticeships with Chautauqua Opera and Des Moines Metro Opera.
Dane Thomas regularly performs with the Lyric Opera of Chicago Chorus (August 2010-March 2017) as well as the Chicago Symphony Chorus (August 2010-August 2018). Recently, he starred as Ralph Rackstraw in H.M.S. Pinafore with Light Opera Works. In 2013, he could be seen as a Lehrbuben in the Lyric Opera of Chicago’s production of Die Meistersinger.
