The Italian organist, Manuel Tomadin, graduated in Piano (maximum of the votes), Organ and organistic composition, Harpsichord (votation 110 Cum Laude); he took a degree in harpsichord in the University of Udine (with a Thesis about the Goldberg Variations (BWV 988) by J.S. Bach votation 110 Cum Laude). He also devotes himself constantly to the executive practices of the Renaissance and Baroque music and also through the study of the essays and the instruments of the epoch. He has followed courses of improvement and master-classes with Claudio Astronio, Andrea Marcon, Michael Radulescu, Luca Scandali, Ferruccio Bartoletti, Peter Planyavsky, Olivier Latry, Paolo Crivellaro, Jon Laukvik, Ludger Lohmann, Gustav Auzinger, Hans Fagius, Pieter van Dijk, Theo Jellema, Francesco di Lernia, Éric Lebrun and Teo Theoliema. From 2001 to 2003 he has studied in the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (Switzerland) with Jean-Claude Zehnder and Andrea Marcon.
Manuel Tomadin regularly collaborates with Baroque recorder-player Staropoli Manuel, and belongs to the early music and period-instrument group Terg Antiqua. He has developed intense activity concert, in Italy and Europe. He has recorded several CD's using historical organs of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Netherlands and Germany; many of these have been reviewed with 5 stars by leading (Franz Tunder, Leyding - Kneller, Nicolaus Bruhnss, Johann Adolf Hasse, George Frideric Handel, Druckenmuller, Johann Ludwig Krebs, Vincent Lübeck and J.S. Bach). He also received a nomination for “price of the Deutschen Schallplattenkritik” about the albums of F. Tunder and J.L. Krebs.
Manuel Tomadin teaches organ and Harpsichord at the Conservatorio di Musica "G. Tartini" of Trieste (since 2018). He is also teacher of the courses of Music for original instruments, Harpsichord and historical Organ to the Summer musical Courses in Sappada (Belluno, Italy) Staatliche Hochschule fur musik und Darstellende kuns in Mannheim (Germany), St. Stanislav School in Ljubljana (Slovenia) and the Beograd Academy (Serbia). He has taught organ and organ composition at the Giuseppe Nicolini Conservatory (Piancenza) and Nino Rota Conservatory (Monopoli). He has given lessons in harpsichord at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory (Venice). He was organist of the Chapel in the Cathedral chapel Civic of Trieste from 2004 to 2008.
Manuel Tomadin is organist in the Luteran Church of Triest. He won 4 prizes in important national organ contests and 6 prizes in international contests. Among which the 1st Prize in Fussen - Breitenwang - Mittenwald (Germany)’s contest and the 2nd Prize with first not assigned in the prestigious contest of Paul Hofhaimer in Innsbruck for two times (2006 and 2010). Winner of the Grand Prix d’ ECHO 2011 in the Alkmaar Schnitger Competition. He is artistic director of the Organ International Festival in Udine and Antonio Vivaldi Festival of Trieste. He currently lives in Pieris, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy.c |
