The Israeli baritone, Yoav Weiss, He has studied at the Buchman-Mehta School of Music. He began his career as an oboe player and was a member of the Young Musicians program at the Jerusalem Music Centre.
Yoav Weiss has performed as soloist with leading Israeli ensembles, orchestras and with the Israeli Opera. He has a rich repertoire that includes solo parts in works by J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel, W.A. Mozart, Johannes Brahms Gabriel Fauré and more. His vocal repertoire includes the role of Abram in Alessandro Scarlatti's Agar et Ismaele; G.F. Handel's Messiah and Israel in Egypt; H. Purcell's The Fairy Queen; G. Rossini's Petite Messe Sollenele; W.A. Mozart's and G. Fauré's Requiems and other works. He was a member of the Israeli Opera's Meitar Opera Studio where his repertoire included Papageno in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflote, Dandini in G. Rossin's La Cenerentola and other roles. He has performed in a number of the Israeli Opera productions, including the role of Akko in G.F. Handel's. Giulio Cesare in Egitto (2017). Recent performance include J.S. Bach's Motets and Lutheran Mass BWV 234 with Israeli Vocal Ensemble and Barrocade Orchestra conducted by Yuval Benozer (October 2022); and W.A. Mozart's Vesperae Solennes de Confessore K.339 with Barrocade Ensemble and Gary Bertini Israeli Choir conducted by Ronen Borshevsky (January 2023). He regularly takes part in premier performances of works by Israeli composers. |
