Cantata BWV 194 "Höchsterwünschtes Freudenfest" (Most greatly longed for feast of joy) was composed in Leipzig for the Celebration the New Church and the Organ at Störmthal in 1723. Bach performed this cantata at least 3 more times in Leipzig (1724, 1726,1731) on Trinity Sunday. The cantata is scored for soprano, tenor & bass soloists; 4-part Chorus; and orchestra of 3 oboes, bassoon, 2 violins, viola & continuo.
