In our continuous efforts to expand and update not only the contents of the BCW, but also to improve its visulity and user experience, we are excited to announce an important update to the Bach Cantatas Website’s media playback system! Thanks to a new enhancement in our video and audio player, all media links (YouTube, Vimeo, and audio recordings) now open in a small, scrollable popup at the upper-left corner of the page.
What this means for you:
· No more full-screen interruptions: The small player stays visible while you continue reading the page, so you can follow the text, scores, or commentary while listening.
· You can move the player around the screen as needed, giving you full control over your reading and listening experience.
· Consistent playback experience: Most playlists and videos, including multi-track album playlists, now play smoothly in sequence.
· Keep the BCW page open: Want to explore more while listening? The page stays fully scorable and accessible.
· Move to YouTube option: For some YouTube album playlists (rare edge cases), only the first track plays in the popup. Don’t worry — you can click “Move to YouTube” in the popup to open the playlist in a new browser window, while keeping the BCW page exactly where you left it.
This update is part of our ongoing effort to improve your experience, making it easier to explore, listen, and enjoy Bach’s music without interruptions.
