The German soprano, Cornelia Fahrion, completed her musicological studies at the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen; She then began her singing studies at the Institut für Alte Musik Trossingen, which she completed with distinction in the summer of 2018. She then continued her singing training with Ulrich Messthaler at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. She has won numerous prizes, such as the TAMIS Wettbewerbs für Alte Musik im Saarland and the International Young Artists Presentation 2018 in Antwerp,
Cornelia Fahrion is a sought-after concert soprano with a wide repertoire of music from the 15th to the 21st century, with a particular interest in music from the 17th and 18th centuries. In 2017 she was a guest at the Bachfest Leipzig. Numerous recordings with the SR and SWR document her artistic work. Since 2021, she is a member of Chor der J.S. Bach-Stiftung St. Gallen (Director: Rudolf Lutz). She is also a member of the chamber ensemble Basel Barock with Teun Wisse (Recorder), Martin Jantzen (Viola da gamba) and Teun Braken (historical keyboard instruments). She currently lives in Basel, Switzerland |
